I graduated from Duke University with an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Business, with a focus in human resources.  I also have a Masters degree in Reading, aquired the UNC system, finishing at NCCU.

My teaching experience started many years ago in 3rd grade.  I stayed home with my children eight years and returned as a Math Resource teacher, teaching students K - 5 in Wake County.  I went back into the classroom in 4th grade and then moved to my favorite grade, 5th.  I stayed in fifth until I completed my Gifted Education certification and began a long career in Gifted.  When my husband and I relocated to Onslow County in 2004, I switched gears again and began teaching Title I Reading at SWE.  I  then returned to my former focus, AIG and completed one year in Gifted Education in Onslow County before personal responsibilities moved me to New Hanover County.  I taught one year of Gifted Education in New Hanover County before becoming a Reading Coach.  I returned to Onslow County in 2010 and have served as Literacy Coach at Dixon Elementary ever since.  I love every aspect of my job and am honored to serve at Dixon.

I am a 20+ year teaching veteran, having spent my career in Wake, Onslow and New Hanover Counties.  My career started in third grade, moved to fourth and then to fifth; from Gifted to Title I to Reading Coach.  I have been responsible for technology to tutoring, and working with students and teachers alike.

I have two wonderful sons, Fletcher and Robb.

I live in North Topsail Beach where I love the beach and everything associated with life there.
