I am a 1989 graduate of UNC-Wilmington with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health & Physical Education with K-12 teaching certification. Go Seahawks!

My first teaching job was in 1990 aboard Camp Lejeune, NC.  I taught PE to grades K-5 at Berkeley Elementary School for 2 years before moving to Massachusetts. Once in Massachusettes, I worked as a health room assistant for East Longmeadow Public Schools and traveled to 3 different schools helping students who came to the nurse's office.  In January 1994 a health & PE position became available at St. Mary's Catholic School in Longmeadow and I taught there until my second son was born.  For the next 12 years, I was a stay-at-home mom.  I had one more son and when he started kindergarten at Carolina Forest, I began substitute teaching.  In the fall of 2005 a position at NorthwoodsElementary School became available and I taught there until 2011.  At that time, my family relocated to Raleigh but returned to Jacksonville six months later.  I have been working as an instructional assistant at Carolina Forest International Elementary from 2012-2014. I was hired at Dixon Elementary last year and enjoy working with and being a part of the Dixon Elementary School family!

I am originally from Alexandria Virginia but have spent most of my life in coastal North Carolina.  I am the mother of 3 sons (Matt 28, Ben 21, an Aaron 16).  My middle son, Ben, is a senior at ECU. Go Pirates!  I have one cat (Mollie) and two dogs (Lacey & Penguin).  I enjoy spending time at the beach, reading, going to the gym, baking, and gardening.  I am very involved in the White Oak High School marching band. I love going to concerts, outdoor festivals, and sporting events.  I have one older brother who lives in South Carolina.  My favorite color is orange.  My favorite holiday season is Christmas.  I also love spending time with my friends, family, and pets!
