Though I was born in Onslow County, I was raised in Northern Virginia on a farm just short of an hour outside of our Nation's capital. It was there I developed my love for animals and the outdoors. I love to hike, fish, camp, and "adventure" with my husband, Dylan, and two hounds, Zeb and Tilly. I moved to Sneads Ferry from Charleston, SC in May 2014. Dylan and I have enjoyed making a home here. We especially like the fishing and flea markets.

I am passionate about education. It is thrilling to constantly learn, to constantly search for enlightened ways of looking at something "old." Education, afterall, is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world according to the great Nelson Mandela. I truly do not think a more rewarding profession exists. To teach and to learn from our future generations every day is invaluable. Having said this, teaching is also an immeasurable responsibility that certainly does not leave me when the bell rings. Whether my students are learning "1+1" or they are learning the foundations of a five-paragraph essay, they are building the infrastructure of their successful future; and as an educator, I promise to never lose site of that.
