Education

I obtained my undergraduate degree from UNCW where I earned a bachelor of Elementary Education. Currently, I am pursuing a masters degree in school administration through ECU.  Additionally, I officially started my administration internship in May of 2017.  I have served as both a 4th grade and 5th grade math teacher.  During the 2016-2017 school year, I was fortunate enough to work with all grades (k-5) as a Math Lab instructor.  This year I will be a 4th grade math and science teacher.

Experience

I will be starting my 8th full-year of teaching and my administrative internship during the 2017-2018 school year.

Bio

Hello and welcome to my page!

My name is Gary Cassidy.  I am very excited to start my eighth year of teaching and formal administration internship during the 2017/18 school year!  This past year I was given the opportunity to work as the math lab teacher for all grade levels (k-5) during their WAVE day specials rotations.  I'm a passionate math teacher and was named Math Teacher of the Year for Onslow County Schools during the 2013/14 school year.  As a math lab instructor, it was my goal to provide all students with the absolute best math enrichment I possibly could. To do this, I worked closely with classroom teachers and developed meaningful enrichment math activities to explore the concepts they were learning in their math classes.  I am looking forward to a new and exciting challenge this year as an administrative intern and fourth grade math teacher.

My background...

After working in the banking field for several years, I decided to follow my passion to become a teacher.  I believe every student can learn and I always look for innovative ways to challenge and enrich students to achieve their goals.  I have very high expectations of all my students; this has largely contributed to the success of my students over the years.  I look forward to having another wonderful experience during the 20017/18 school year!

Thank you,

Gary Cassidy
