Subjects Taught
Second Grade

I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I also attended Appalachian State University where I began my journey in pursuing a degree in elementary education.

This is my 19th year in education with the Onslow County school system. I was a teacher's assistant for five years and I have been teaching at Dixon since I graduated in 2003. I taught first grade for the first five years of my career before switching to second grade.

I am excited to introduce myself as your child's teacher this year! I am a native of Jacksonville, N.C. and a product of Onslow County Schools. I love spending time with my family, taking walks with my labrador Mira, and cuddling up with a good book. My son Jacob, who was a Dixon dolphin, is in the 6th grade at Dixon Middle and keeps me busy with all of his activities.

It has always been a dream for me to become a teacher. My pledge is to share the love I have for children as I nurture, educate, and instill a love for learning in a fun, yet challenging, environment. I am looking forward to working with you and your child this year. My central goal as an educator is to meet each child’s individual needs through a variety of instructional strategies and techniques that engage and encourage problem-solving and thinking. Through cooperation and teamwork, we will build strong relationships and a community of learners as we share our gifts and talents with one another.

I appreciate your trust in me and I promise that I will treat your child the way that I expect my own to be treated. I look forward to our partnership this year.
